Must Open From Within



He stands with lantern bright
To light the way from sin
The door He knocks through darkest night
Must open from within.




The night is dark, the Saviour knocks
A door closed long ago
It has no outside catch or locks
Across it creepers grow.




He carries God's great saving light
To us He would come in,
But hearts and doors to Him shut tight
Must open from within.
