Old friends and loved ones, where have they gone?
Only yesterday were they here.
But from the path drop one by one
And quietly disappear.

Yet onward along the path we tread
The time clock will not pause.
We know we all are mortals
And subject to Nature's Laws.

The faces are somewhat fuzzy now
As memory tends to fade.
But the picture alive in my soul remains
Of the lasting friendships made

The sand still flows through the hour glass
But ahead is the Great Divide.
Then I hope to see them all again
When I reach the other side.
