I’d like to paraphrase some words
a patriot once said,
“If I cannot have liberty,
It’s better to be dead.”

Today such strong prophetic words
are admonishing us all,
“We either stand united , or
divided we will fall.”

Divisive forces now within
our nation’s very heart
are striving toward a well-planned quest
to rip our souls apart.

The dialogue of politics,
acerbic in its tone,
divides our nation in two parts,
and each part stands alone.

Do we possess the stamina
to raise our standards high,
maintain the moral strength to win,
or just give up and die?

There is no problem we may face
that we will fail to weather.
We will taste victory if we take
a moral stand together.
