Sometimes in the heat of an argument
We say things we don’t really mean
Ugly words that we can’t take back
Of this situation many have seen





Our feelings get hurt and tempers flare
Then things are said that we regret
Words that normally we wouldn’t say
Come from anger that we should suppress





We must learn to hold our tongues
Then no regrets will we have
When all blows over and peace restores
Words that were said won’t make us sad
