The moment that my feet first touched the earth,
An hourglass was turned to note my birth.
Time's old device that never failed its cause
Relentlessly continues without pause.

Allotted time for me on earth to spend
Had its beginning and in time will end.
The measurement is made in human years.
When time is up, an angel soon appears.

My restless soul, unfettered, then will rise
And soar through boundless space and endless skies;
Then hosts of angels calling me by name
Will guide me to the realm where from I came.
And then I'll know if I obeyed God's will,
A mission I endeavored to fulfill.
