Two distinct faculties clearly exist.
Directing the way we may act.
One is concerned with rational thought,
And is merely involved with fact.

It's focus is only on tangible things,
Those things that can clearly be seen.
Exclusively part of the physical world,
No spiritual thought can we glean.

The conscious spiritual faculty
Can sense those things unseen.
We can't see love, faith, hope or truth,
But yet, we sense what they mean.

There is no dichotomy to be found
Between these two modes of thought,
But the use of our spiritual faculties
Must be learned, it can't be taught.

And rational faculties used alone
Cannot attain inner peace.
Cannot sense that which is unseen,
Nor detect what the spiritual sees.

When conscious are we of an inner peace,
God's presence can be accessed.
And by using the spiritual faculty,
The rational can be addressed.

The presence of that peace of God
Exists within each soul,
And the sensing and use of inner peace
Is designed to make us whole.
