Each year I ask of you, my dear,
“Am I your valentine?”
There is no doubt deep in my heart-
You always will be mine.

Your hair has turned to silver gray,
new wrinkles do appear.
But when a smile adorns your face,
the wrinkles disappear.

I love each strand of silver hair,
the wrinkles, old and new,
because with passage of the years,
they are a part of you.

I look beneath the surface skin
To see what makes you whole.
I look into your heart to find
The beauty of your soul.

So be my valentine again-
to me a sentiment dear.
Valentines should be a thought to give
on each day of the year.
