Christmas comes but once a year,
with it presents and good cheer.
Presents bought and exchanged with all,
some returned the next day to the mall.

Parties and rich foods are plentiful,
making us forget we have a weight goal.
There are never enough hours in the day,
to buy all the things, or money to pay.

We go in debt for this occasion,
it doesn't take much persuasion.
Our children have such long gift lists,
and plenty of dreams of Christmas Bliss.

Before it's over our pockets are dry,
with so many bills piled sky high.
But we'll do it again next year,
plenty of joy and Christmas cheer.
Merry Christmas!
